Claws and Effect™ is the invention of jewelry artist Garth Kuver. Garth had been working extensively with crystals and their unique healing energies for some time when when she realized that there was no safe and stable way to give her pets the gift of crystal healing. After extensive experimentation and refinement, she developed a simple and effective method to attach healing, energetic crystals to animals. The Crystal Lock-It™ now has a patent pending with the USPTO.
Garth (granted, it's odd, but Garth is a woman) soon realized that she couldn't do this alone. She teamed up with Teri Smith, a friend of more than 15 years. Teri and Garth met when their sons were just going into 2nd grade; the boys became best friends and remain so. Our families went through a joyous move from Florida to Western North Carolina together about 10 years ago, and several job and direction false starts later, we think we might have finally gotten it right with Claws and Effect.

We are committed to supporting our local economy, so that our little corner of the world can stay the unspoiled way it is. The Crystal Lock-It™ is manufactured by stay-at-home moms and dads right here in Western North Carolina. It’s an ideal product for that type of work environment.
Similarly, we’re dedicated to the use of green packaging and parts; our informational cards are recycled paper and our crystals and stones mined in an appropriate manner.
Obviously, we are animal lovers. Garth has two Siberian Huskies and a Great Dane. Teri rescued her adorable beagle and two cats. We are committed to the cause of animal rescue. Our contribution to that cause is a special category - Rescue Me - with two special stones, angelite and celestite. This category serves as a fundraiser for rescue organizations. 50% of all proceeds from the sale of the Rescue Me Crystal Lock-Its™ go directly to these organizations. Our primary charity is the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Utah. Their huge animal sanctuary cares for ALL types of animals. You may have heard of them because they were the eventual home of the Michael Vicks dogs, or you might know them as the subject of the show "Dogtown" on the National Geographic Channel. We support our favorite local rescue organizations - Sarge's Animal Rescue in Haywood County, N.C., The Mimi Paige Foundation in Buncombe County, N.C., and BEAM (Because Every Animal Matters) in Charlotte. N.C. We also support several breed specific rescue organizations because these dogs and cats often have special needs and may be especially hard to match to new homes. You'll find these breeds specified in their own categories.

Shipping Information:
Orders will typically leave our warehouse 2-3 days after receipt of payment. Some items may be backordered and you will be notified immediately of its' actual expected shipping date.
Refund, Returns and Cancellation Policies:
We cheerfully refund on a case-by-case basis and returns are fine if the lock-it has not been worn. We offer a limited warranty of six months for faulty manufacture, which will be determined by us upon the return of the lock-it. Your animal will receive a new Crystal Lock-It of your choice if the fault is ours.
